AT A GLANCE
The Bees of Love Institute emerged from a dream to transform the world. Our committed team of volunteer "bees" has been working daily to make this dream come true.
The Bees of Love concept was born the night Georgia Buffara, the founder, dreamed that a bee would land on her while she slept. A remarkable dream, which brought light and fueled her desire to change the world. This bee has been guiding the institute ever since.
OUR STORY
"UBUNTU," a word of South African origin that for years has come to mind and has no translation, but it means " I am because we are ".
I never understood exactly what this word meant and how I would continue on this mission until when a bee recently landed in my hand and everything started to make sense.
Bees sow life, but they are also sympathetic to the point that when threatened, they bite their offenders even though they know that this act will lead them to death. They are capable of giving their own lives for the greater cause (releasing the stinger causes the contents of the abdomen to be externalized and the bee to die).
After this insight and revisiting UBUNTU that also inspired Nelson Mandela in the fight against Apartheid, I saw that a group of bees could symbolize all these forces that I carry in my heart and in my soul. So Bees of Love came into being. ”
